About Smoaks e-cigarettes

The Future of Smoking

A Smoaks e-cigarette is an electrical cigarette that can be smoked instead of a traditional tar and chemical cigarette, delivering the same nicotine hit. Smoaks simulate old cigarettes accurately with the same inhalation process, flavour, physical sensation and appearance but without the smell and associated respiratory health risks.

A Smoaks cigarette follows a highly engineered design and safety checked manufacturing process, built from the following parts:

1. Cartridge (mouthpiece and store of nicotine liquid)
2. Atomizer (heating element)
3. Battery
4. LED light

Smoaks use heat to vaporize a nicotine liquid solution into a mist ready for inhaling in the same way as a traditional cigarette, but without the tar and tobacco. Some Smoaks models contain a disposable ‘cartomizer’ that replaces the separate cartridge and atomizer components with a single integrated piece.

Reusable, Rechargeable, Long lasting

When the liquid in your Smoaks e-cigarette has been depleted, you can either dispose of the cartomizer or if you have a separate cartridge and atomizer; replace the cartridge. Smoaks are powered by an eco-friendly and long-life lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is rechargable via a cable or dock. This flexibility allows you to charge your cigarette through a PC or laptop and an AC socket.

But what’s a cigarette without a pack for it to go in? So we’ve taken care of that as well – you can buy a Portable Charging Case that contains a large battery, which charges the smaller batteries within individual e-cigarettes when they’re docked inside.

Innovation

Smoaks cigarettes contain an electronic airflow sensor that allows you to simply draw on the cigarette to inhale the nicotine vapour. This offers a distinct advantage over manual e-cigarettes that require activation by pressing a button. Smoaks also come with a colored LED that glows when you inhale, using Smoaks delivers the exact same experience as a traditional cigarette, only without the nasty bits.

Liquids

Our liquids are for use in our refillable cartridges and our pre-filled disposable cartridges. Developed under strict adherence to food and health regulations, the liquids have a water and Propylene glycol base, with Propylene glycol having well-renowned water retention properties. All our liquid bases are common food additives used in a variety of pharmaceutical formulations. Propylene glycol has been used in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) includes propylene glycol on its list of substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).

Nicotine

Nicotine is added to the liquid giving you the vapour you’re so familiar with and satisfying the craving to smoke. Smoaks have a variety of nicotine-strength liquids tailored to the most common smoker preferences with actual numerical nicotine concentrations printed on liquid containers or cartridge packaging in the standard format.

What Health Organisations Think

American Association of Public Health Physicians

The American Association of Public Health Physicians (AAPHP) supports electronic cigarettes sales to adults, “because the possibility exists to save the lives of four million of the eight million current adult American smokers who will otherwise die of a tobacco-related illness over the next twenty years.”

Boston University School of Public Health

A study by researchers at the Boston University School of Public Health in 2010 concluded that electronic cigarettes were safer than real cigarettes and may aid in breaking the habit of smoking. They wrote: “few, if any, chemicals at levels detected in electronic cigarettes raise serious health concerns.” Electronic cigarettes were found to be “much safer” than traditional tobacco ones.

The report found that the level of carcinogens in electronic cigarettes was up to 1,000 times lower than regular cigarettes. It also said early evidence shows that by simulating a tobacco cigarette; electronic cigarettes may help people to quit smoking.

University of East London

At the University of East London research on the effects of the use of an electronic cigarette to reduce cravings in regular tobacco smokers showed that electronic cigarettes can be effective in reducing nicotine-related withdrawal symptoms.

UK Government

A report from a UK Government advisory unit favoured to adopt ‘smokeless nicotine cigarettes’ instead of the traditional ‘quit or die’ approach believing this would save more lives.
